Tom Lowry MemorialThe team travelled down to collie in the states South West for the Tom Lowry memorial. The weather was a bit dodgy on the way down but it turned out to be a decent day with no rain but we did have a bit of wind blowing. With a brand new course being used no-one really new what to expect.
In A grade we had 5 starters with Heksa Prasetya having his last race here before he returns home. The day started of well with all the moves being covered by either one or two of our riders. After about 20km the break of the day went away, with Heksa, Nathan Lyons and Chris Glasby going with it. This left Eddy Hollands and Joe Carreno to sit in the bunch and wait just incase the break was caught. Unfortunately Chris ran out of legs on the return back into town and young Nathan suffering from cramp in both legs with about 10km to go. This left Heksa somewhat exposed up front. In the end he finished in 6th place. Eddy won the bunch Sprint for 8th, still showing some form from last weeks win.
In Support 1 we had Chris Brown, Keith Gill and the welcome return of Sarah-Jeanne Hollands. This race come down to a bunch sprint with Chris finishing in 6th place, Keith finished in bunch not bad considering he originally nominated for the Support 2 race, but upgraded himself so he could race with Chris and Sarah. Sarah won the ladies prize for the day, a great result for her after she crashed out last weekend and is still a bit bruised.
